The unique ultra-efficient, low-drag hull shape combined with CSSB partners' ultra-lightweight prepreg production technology means a superior platform for any king of electric propulsion systems. The hull shape is characterised by a slim centre hull flanked by even thinner outer hulls, creating tunnels underneath.
This design has very low resistance at fast displacement speeds of around 14 to 15 knots. The outer rigging layers also contribute to the stability of the boat and ensure a comfortable and smooth ride. The Optima yacht hull concept has proven its superior seaworthiness during intensive sea voyages.
The Optima e10 was the first electric boat to circumnavigate the Isle of Wight non-stop. 51 nautical miles (95 km) in less than 6 hours and only £20 to recharge.
